On the day of Korey’s funeral, Enchanted meets with Derrick, who admits that “[he’s] glad [Korey’s] dead” (324), because he hurt so many people. As they watch the funeral on television, Enchanted notices that Derrick’s dad, Richie, is wearing Korey’s watch. She remembers what Korey told her: “There’s only one like it” (325). Enchanted realizes that Derrick is unaware of what has happened.
Enchanted calls Jessica and tells her that she saw Richie wearing Korey’s watch. Jessica lashes out, avoiding the subject and telling Enchanted that “Korey went crazy after [Enchanted] left” (328). When Enchanted presses her to explain how Richie got Korey’s watch, Jessica hangs up on her.
Enchanted’s lawyer warns her that the police have found enough evidence to arrest her and charge her as an adult now that she is 18. She agrees to turn herself in within two days, but she also asks to see the list of items that were found on Korey. No watch was found on Korey’s body.
